Dr. Hughes was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas, he attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He then completed a family practice residency at West Tennessee Eye with a heavy emphasis in ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and glaucoma. He was in private practice in Oklahoma City for 10 years but then returned to Arkansas in 2018 with his wife Nichole and four children: Georgia, Hudson, Knox, and Magnolia.

Dr. Hughes enjoys sports vision training with Razorback student-athletes, helping dry eye patients using new technology, and taking care of eyecare needs for patients from 6months old on.

In his free time, he is an active member at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He enjoys spending outdoor time with his wife and kids and their two labrador retrievers (Maple and Huck). If you want to start up a conversation with him, ask him what book he's currently reading.

Meet Jada, the business administrator at EyeLove.  Jada can be found multitasking, doing just about any and everything at EyeLove.  She grew up 30 minutes west of Denver, CO, and moved to Fayetteville in 2022 when she married her husband Nicholas.  She loves NWA, especially Pearls Books, the Thorncrown Chapel, and Torres Taqueria.  Jada enjoys cooking, reading, crocheting, and spending time with her husband.  

Meet Ashley, the Patient Care Coordinator at EyeLove, known for her gentle voice and kind spirit!  An Arkansas native, Ashley was raised in Mountain Home and moved to Fayetteville in 2014 after marrying her husband Herschel.  She enjoys reading, walking the trails, and spending time with Herschel.  She can be found perusing the Fayetteville Farmers Market and shopping at the Promenade in her free time.

Meet Emily, Patient Care Advocate at EyeLove.  Emily is a Berryville native and moved to Fayetteville to attend the U of A.  She is currently pursuing a degree in Psychology.  Emily enjoys exercising, hiking, and spending time with her family.  She loves NWA, but especially the Airship Coffee at Coler, Pasta Fina in Bentonville, the Lake Fayetteville Trail, and Top Golf.  Emily will probably be the smiling face you see when you check-in for your eye exam at EyeLove.

Meet Sean, the EyeLove optician.  Sean is best known for his super power to adjust and repair glasses. Sean grew up in Berryville and moved to Fayetteville in 2016.  Sean enjoys music, having sung in the HS choir, as well as in a band with friends.  He enjoys gaming, seeing the beauty of the Ozarks when walking the trails, and appreciating the beauty of art at the Crystal Bridge Museum.  Some of Sean’s favorite NWA food includes Hugo’s, Sabor, and Braum’s.  

Meet Nichole, office manager at EyeLove and wife to the amazing Dr. Hughes.  While Nichole has held many jobs, mostly in sales, working together with her husband to build EyeLove has been her best gig yet!  Well, that and getting to be the Mom of 4 great kids!  Nichole enjoys spending time with her family, doing puzzles, watching sports, shooting hoops in the driveway with her boys, lifting weights with Dr. Hughes, and watching cheesy Hallmark shows with her girls.  Her favorite NWA places include Crystal Bridges, Fayetteville Farmers Market, Tangiers, Feed and Folly, the trails, the library, and City Supply.
